For my technology group project, we were briefed to create a model which expresses the building in its best form. The building we chose was the Barcelona Pavilion by Mies Van Der Rohe. Prior to fabricating the model, we visited the Pavilion in order to conduct site anyalysis. We felt that the most important component in the building was the materiality, thus deciding to keep the interior of the Pavilion exposed, allowing one to appreciate the beautiful selection of materials from the varied use of glass to the main onyx wall feature.
